A note on cropping

Keep these ratios in mind while you're creating your original.

Composing to a standard ratio from the start means your work prints and frames with no surprises. If your piece doesn't match one, you'll either lose a little to a crop or gain uneven borders on two sides to keep the whole image — so it's worth planning for. We can also print to your artwork's true proportions at a custom size, or help you pick the closest standard. See our Guide to Borders for the details.

No guessing required: upload a preview in our print order form and you'll see exactly how each size crops or where uneven borders fall, alongside your artwork's exact ratio, before you commit.
